We have contacted several people and institutions that own P-51 Mustangs, and have not heard from them yet. If you or anyone you know owns a P-51 or any P-series WWII aircraft, we would like to speak to you. The plane doesn't need to move. we just need our main actor in the cockpit of the plane for about an hour and a half.
If you are interested in helping us out with your aircraft, please fill out the information on the "Contact Us" link on the left and we will contact you directly.

We have been looking for a P-51C Mustang for our interior shots. We failed miserably. We did however find a SNJ-4 Navy trainer. Owned and operated by the Cleveland Wing Commemorative Air Force. We took a look at the cockpit of the plane and it's perfect for our needs. We are currently working out the details to use the plane.
We also spoke with the Findley State Park people about getting a permit to shoot there, and it looks like things may go well. We are still waiting to hear from them regarding a permit.
We are still looking for two male actors, to play our German soldiers. If you are interested, please click here.

We received news that we have the the SNJ-4, as our double for our P-51 Mustang! The production value of Currahee just went up! Thank you to the Cleveland Wing Commemorative Air Force for all of your help in making this project come alive!

We finally have all of our locations! We are still short about 500 bucks of our budget, but it all looks good. We did not get our windmill location, but we did have a great plan
"B", and old chicken coupe! You can see pictures of ALL of our locations in the "Gallery" section of this page!

At 2pm today, Kyle and Adam showed up to run over lines with Kenny. He was a no show for about an hour. Needless to say, I was fit to be tied. He was getting his hair cut, and when he walked in, I forgot why I was upset. You just can't be upset with him! He's too nice of a guy. Kyle and Kenny got into their outfits and for the first time, during this process, I knew it was going to look great!
They ran over the few lines they have and it started to sound great! By the time we got to the location, it was almost 5pm. We set up the lights outside and the generator. We blocked ALL of the action and went through the EVERY scene that was to take place at the chicken coupe. We began shooting around 7PM. When I saw the first images, through the camera, I knew that the film was going to look great! Our goal was to finish ALL of that location's shots by midnight. We finished at 1:30am, and we had almost 100 set ups. We were flying!
Tomorrow, should go alot smoother, at the France location. We only have around 35 set ups! Most Hollywood productions have about 4 setups a day.

Today we shot at Findley State Park. Things got off to a rough start when we kept popping the fuse on the generators. For some reason, they could not handle the amount of juice being pulled from it at one time. We found that it was an easy fix AFTER two and a half hours later. Finally, picture was up and we shot ALL of the night sequences. They look great! George shaved his facial hair for us...boy, he sure did look like a 15 year old. Now, he was too young for our flick! Just kidding George!
It was very cold, but everyone hung in there! We were having problems with the camera power. It appears that the battery suddenly started to phase out when we could only charge it half way. Looks like I'll be looking into buying another battery. We found that the steady cam was way to steady for some of the shots, so we only used it in certain areas of the film.
To morrow we go back to the chicken coupe and then back to Findley for the day scenes.

Today got off to a REALLY rough start! Kenny and Angel got the times mixed up and we started an hour late. So the whole production was delayed by about an hour. But they came through and once we got to Findley, things started rolling.
When we got to Findley, we shot all of the dead body parts scene and Jazzy (Jasmine Villanueva) froze her little behind off playing dead. She made a great dead girl. We shot the action sequences and Kenny stabbed himself with the authentic WWII bayonet-TWICE. Totally ruined the costume...hehe, as long as he was stabbing himself and not someone stabbing him, everything was cool!
Tomorrow we shoot at the Lorain County Regional Airport. That should go smooth!
10/20/08
Today we were at the Lorain County Regional Airport, to use the Cleveland Wing Commemorative Air Force's SNJ-4 WWII trainer. The engine block on this plane was finished the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor and the plane was finished the day before D-Day. So this plane is real history!
Kenny got there and he looked the part, but the guys said, hey, he wouldn't wear this or he wouldn't wear that...needless to say, they were a big help. They popped open one of their museum displays and handed Kenny a helmet, goggles and a pair of authentic head phones used during the war. Kenny really looked the part after that!
We were there for about an hour and a half, and the weather was great! We couldn't have asked for a better weather. Kenny will be in town for about a week and we plan to tie up some lose ends with his character. We'll be going back to the chicken coupe on Thursday after work, to shoot the creature drag cut aways and the exterior night shots of the chicken coupe. Then we should be finished shooting. We'll also be doing some ADR's (Audio Dialogue Replacement) for any of the sound that didn't come through clear.
We're still waiting on the creature, and we hope to have a rough cut by November.
10/22/08
Today we headed back to Findley Park and to the chicken coupe for the last of the pick up shots. When we got to Findley, the road was closed, at the entrance. What are the odds?
We finally got into the park, and we were losing light very quickly. We shot 8 set ups, super quick! We lost the light and we still have about 4 more pick ups to do. For now, it will do. We'll go back soon to finish.
We went back to the chicken coupe and shot the last of the exterior shots and cut aways of Kenny. It's really gonna look good. I hope it all cuts together. I guess that's every director's nightmare. I'm sure it will cut together nicely.
I'll be ingesting the footage into the computer soon.
11/2/08
Tonight was the first night, I've been able to work on Currahee. At first, my biggest fears of the film not cutting together were coming true. Then with a little creative editing, it looks like it will cut together very nice. I still feel I should go back and re-shoot some things. In all of the excitment, I forgot to shoot two very important shots. If I can't make it work, I'll have to try and get the shots before all of the leaves fall or I'll try again in the spring.
The creature is looking good and the planes are ready for Tim to animate. I have to draw out the sequence first before he gets going.
other than that, things may come together very well.
